Start with what you are seeing. Each problem below points to the service that usually fixes it, and a phone call gets you a straight answer either way.

No Water or Low Pressure

Faucets sputter, pressure fades, or nothing comes out at all. The pump, pressure switch, or tank is the usual suspect.

Rotten-Egg Smell or Orange Stains

Sulfur odor and rust-colored stains on fixtures and laundry point to hydrogen sulfide and iron. A water test confirms what is there and how much.

Sand or Low Flow

Grit in the lines, or a well that cannot keep up, often means clogged screens, iron bacteria, or a worn pump.

Old, Unused Well on the Property

An open or forgotten well is a direct path into the aquifer. Once a well is out of use for good, Florida requires it to be plugged under a permit.
