Commercial Water Wells
Big Jobs, Small Jobs, Same Standards
American Drilling Services is a family-owned contractor based in Okeechobee and in business since 1984. Our commercial work covers temporary water for construction, permanent supply wells, irrigation wells for large grounds, and complete systems with pumps, tanks, and treatment.
Project managers get a clear scope, a realistic schedule, and one person to call. Small-business owners get the same attention and the same free estimate. If the job involves water from the ground, we want to hear about it.

Who We Work With
General Contractors & Developers
Supply wells, irrigation wells, and the plugging of old wells on land being cleared, all scheduled around your site work and inspections.
Construction Sites
Temporary water for dust control, compaction, and crews, or a permanent well planned from day one to serve the finished building.
Businesses & Facilities
Process, wash-down, and potable water for shops, plants, warehouses, and rural businesses. Drinking water for a business has extra rules, and we build to them.
Nurseries, Golf, & Landscape
Irrigation wells sized to the property, pumps that hold pressure across every zone, and repairs when one quits in the summer heat. More on our irrigation services.
Agricultural Operations
Groves, ranches, dairies, and row-crop farms need high-volume irrigation and livestock water. Farm work has its own page: agricultural well drilling.
Property Managers
Wells, pumps, tanks, and treatment for HOA common areas, rental properties, and multi-tenant sites, with one contractor to call when something breaks.
Commercial Capabilities, Start to Finish
Before we price a commercial well, we ask how much water you need at peak, how many hours a day it will run, what pressure the system needs, and whether anyone will drink the water. Those answers set the diameter, the casing, the pump, and the storage.
Then we build it to Florida’s construction standards, with approved casing and a neat cement grout seal that keeps surface water out of the aquifer. The same crew can set the pump, plumb the tanks, and install treatment, so you are not coordinating three trades for one water supply.
No power at the site? We set up solar pumping. Old wells in the way of new construction? We plug them under permit through our well abandonment service.
What We Build & Install
- 2 to 24 inch wells: from small supply wells to large-diameter production wells.
- PVC and steel casing: chosen to suit the depth, the aquifer, and the job.
- Submersible, jet, and centrifugal pumps: matched to the well and the flow you need.
- Tanks: pressure tanks, concrete and polyethylene storage, and portable tanks for temporary water.
- Solar pumping: for sites with no power at the wellhead.
- Commercial water treatment: softening, iron and sulfur filtration, and UV disinfection sized for commercial flow.
- Well abandonment: permitted plugging of old wells found on development sites.
- Maintenance and repair: for the wells we build and the ones we inherit.
Permits & Compliance, Handled
Well Construction Permit
Florida requires a permit before any well is built, repaired, or abandoned, whatever its size. Depending on the county, it comes from the water management district or from a county health department office that issues permits for the district. We prepare and file it.
Water Use Permit
A well that supplies a business or irrigates crops generally also needs a water use permit from the water management district, which grants the right to use the water. We work with you or your engineer and provide the well information the application needs.
Drinking Water for a Business
A well that pipes drinking water to one or more businesses is regulated as a limited-use commercial public water system. The county health department oversees it, and it needs a Department of Health construction permit on top of the well permit. Septic systems must also stay at least 100 feet away.
Well Completion Report
Florida requires a well completion report to be filed with the permitting office within 30 days after a well is built, repaired, or abandoned. We file it, which leaves a record of your well that future owners and inspectors can look up.
Not sure which rules apply to your project? Send us the site location and how the water will be used, and we will tell you which permits to expect before you commit to anything. Our permit FAQs cover the common questions.
Anywhere in Florida
Central Base, Statewide Reach
We take commercial and agricultural work across Florida, big and small, from the Panhandle to South Florida. A Florida water well contractor license is valid in every county, and we handle permits with whichever water management district or county health department has jurisdiction over your site.

- Permits filed with the local permitting office
- Work scheduled around your site contractor and other trades
- One point of contact from bid to completion report
- 24/7 emergency line when a system goes down
Maintenance Programs for Commercial Wells
We set up scheduled service for commercial wells, pumps, tanks, and treatment equipment, timed to how hard your system works. We note what we find on every visit, so you have a record for your facility files and a history that speeds up the next diagnosis.
- Pump output and system pressure checks
- Pressure switch, controls, and tank inspection
- Wellhead, casing, and sanitary seal inspection
- Flow checks that catch clogging from iron bacteria or scale early
- Water sampling and treatment equipment service
- Jetting and cleaning when output starts to drop
